Here’s the update so far : http://www.thestar.com/news/gta/article/679225
Well, it has been a wild time in the last week, with couples scrambling at the last minute to make sure they have their wedding decor and florals. I would have thought that charges would have been filed by now, but obviously not.
We have had phone calls, emails, and appointments almost solid now for the last week, and a few more to come.
The Star reporter is still investigating last we heard and wants to hear from couples who were scammed and either had their weddings ruined, or were left without a decorator and florist a few weeks before their wedding.
We decided to help out those that contacted us and do their weddings at cost for several reasons, but one is because not one bride and groom deserves what happened to them. If we can relieve the stress and anxiety that this created, that alone is reason enough . We actually have booked a few weddings at a loss, just so these couples will not have a total disaster on their hands.
Another reason we continued with this attitude was because of the couple that were featured in the Toronto Star, who’s wedding was almost ruined.
When I saw the bride and groom finally at the end of their reception, a couple couldn’t have been more grateful then these two. The hugs I got and the gratitude shown made the effort we made completely worth while.
So.. for the brides and grooms that were affected and are now using our services at cost , you can thank Andrew and Rachel. If they hadn’t shown the enthusiasm and appreciation they did for the work we did, we may have re-thought our offer. In the end though we haven’t and are looking foward to doing these weddings.
