Flower Balls-Rose Balls-Pomanders
We made these flower balls for several reasons rather then buy pre-mades for our brides. The first reason is that pre-mades usually from China to us look like dollar store roses were used. (sorry if we offend anyone.)
The second reason is that the foam required to make these huge balls started at about $75.00/pce and that cost we just couldn’t justify. Not only that, but they come in 2 halves which we would have had to put together and made sure they stayed together.
The third reason was that we weren’t limited to whatever colour was available and could purchase our own roses which not only look nicer but could use the colour we chose.
So…. we set about making our own frames to be cost effective.
It took over 230 roses to make one ball on a 14″ frame which resulted in a finished 18″ ball with a circumference of just over 60″
A lot of brides this year are incorporating them not only in their reception around the head table or entrances, but are also using them in their ceremonies. They serve many purposes for one rental price.
These of course are for rental and any colours can be added to them to comliment your theme colour, whether it be designer wire, coloured pearls, crystals or just anything that suits your style.
Our next project is to make 22″ balls. The frames have already been formed. We estimate that close to 350 roses will probably be needed for one ball, but we’ll let you know once we have completed them.
